IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi: CAET Exam 2024

Introduction:

The combined admission entrance test (CAET), which is offered to UAE nationals, UAE residents, and international students this year for admission to several courses at IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi, is regarded as a key entrance exam. Students who wish to be enrolled to IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi must take the CAET admission exam. The CAET exam will be conducted on 23 June 2024 (Sunday) in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, etc. Candidates can acquire admission through the JEE Advanced Exam 2024 or the CAET 2024. The Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science & Engineering and the Bachelor of Technology in Energy Engineering are the two bachelor’s degree programs that the IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi will offer. There will be 30 spots available for each program, for a total of 60 seats in the initial class. August or September is when classes are expected to start. The initial undergraduate program’s admissions standards have been made public by the IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi campus. The program will launch in the 2024–2025 academic year.

CAET Qualifying Criteria

Grade 12 performance (or equivalent): A minimum of 75% overall on the Board test for Class XII (or equivalent). total grades determined by adding together the results of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, a Language, and one more subject OR In their respective Class XII (or equivalent) Board exams, candidates must rank in the top 20 percentile. You can still apply, though, if your Grade 12 results are still pending.If your Grade 12 results are still waiting, you may still submit an application. Please note that the marksheet must be presented at the time of selection.

Score in EmSAT/SAT: EmSAT Score in Mathematics: Minimum 1150/2000

OR SAT Score in Mathematics: Minimum 700/800

Language Proficiency:Minimum proficiency in English as per the below requirement.The test must be taken within the last 2 years from any

certified provider.

EmSAT TOFEL IELTS
A score of 1100 on the English Language
A score of 500 or equivalent such as (173 CBT, 61 iBT)
Overall score of 5.5 in IELTS

Appearance in Grade 12: Candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or

equivalent) examination for the first time in either the current year or 2 years immediately preceding (i.e for admission to the program in 2024, the candidate should have appeared for Class XII exams for the first time in 2022, 2023 or 2024) with  Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

Age Limit: Candidate must be less than 25 years of age, on the date of

Admission.

Earlier admission at IITs: A candidate should NOT have been admitted to any IIT earlier, irrespective of whether or not the candidate continued in the program OR accepted and then vacated an IIT seat.

Number of Attempts: A candidate can appear in CAET and/or JEE Advanced a

maximum of two times (in total).

Application Procedure for IIT Abu Dhabi CAET 2024:

Step 1: Complete the registration process

  • Enter your details (name, contact no, email address, DOB, etc.)
  • Create a password.
  • Tick the confirmation tab.
  • Click on Register.
  • Your login credentials will be shared with you on your registered email ID.

Step 2: Enter your details

  • Complete your Personal Information.
  • Choose your Examination Center based on your preference.
  • Specify if you have completed National Service (applicable only for UAE Nationals).
  • Specify if you are a Person of Determination.

Step 3: Complete your Academic Information

  • If you are currently in Grade 12/Year 13, choose the Appearing Year as 2024.
  • If you are an Indian Expatriate living in UAE for 5 years or more, then provide the score for Grade 8 – 12.
  • Enter your EmSAT or SAT score in Mathematics if you have a valid score. If you do not have a score yet, select Yet to appear.
  • Select an English Proficiency Test from the dropdown. Select the one with the highest score if you have appeared for more than one examination. If you don’t have a valid score, select “Yet to appear”. You can submit the scorecard at the time of selection.

Step 5: Fee Submission

  • After submitting the document, you will be redirected to PayPal to pay the one-time Application Fee of USD 82 (~ 300 AED).
